I’m back after 8 days of the worst flu I’ve ever experienced. It started to hit by last Saturday night and by Sunday I was in bed and unable to move or eat for the next 5 days.
A lot of people seem to be calling it the "10 day" flu and I completely understand why - 8 days later I’m still feeling dizzy and weak.
I have a lot to catch up on over the next couple of weeks so I apologize to clients waiting on replies and work to be done. It really has been a challenging 6 weeks and I’m looking forward to things getting back to normal now.

After 18 months of dealing with some very significant (and seemingly never-ending) challenges Fenella and I were very, very much looking forward to our holiday in Fiji between August 8th and August 17th.
Alas… "Disaster 2008" seemed determined to stalk us on our holiday as well.
Yes, overall we had a great time but I can’t say that I really relaxed much at all.
When I arrived back in Christchurch with the intention of getting straight back to work I discovered that I was still emotionally and physically drained, possibly even more so then before we left. It has since taken almost an entire week to recover and get back up to speed.
This means I’m still playing catch up on overdue work and I want to say thanks to clients for their patience. I’ll be fully caught up within the next few days.
I won’t bore you with the entire tale, but here’s a very quick summary of our Fiji holiday events:
- Flew out of Auckland to Fiji - our daughter Emila waaaaaaaay over tired so screamed most of the way. Never, ever expect to watch an inflight movie in full when you have a child under 4. Ever.
- Fenella’s mother Penny was horribly sick before we left and even more so when we arrived. How she made the flight and boat ride across I don’t know. She crawled into bed upon arrival and couldn’t get out again for almost four days. For the first two days she was barely concious.
- The next day was relatively calm although Emilia was really unhappy and seemed a bit unwell. Lots of crying and refused to let anyone but Daddy hold her. Standing by herself was not allowed and so I had to endure "Duddle!" ("Daddy Cuddle" - everyone else gets asked for "cuddle!", I get "Duddle!") aaaaaall day (very, very tiring).
- On day 3 Emilia developed chicken pox. Yes… again. And REALLY badly. We went to see the doctor on the island. Turns out there isn’t one - we had to arrange to go to the mainland the next day.
- That night she screamed for 7-8 hours straight because of the pain / itching. We’ve never heard / experienced anything like it and never want to again.
- Finally the next morning we get on a Ferry to the mainland. I’d had 15 minutes sleep and wasn’t much fun to be around.
- Almost 8 hours, $500, two ferrys, a shuttle, a taxi and various times of sitting around waiting for transport or doctors we arrived back to our home island with a much happier Emilia. The anti-histamines the doctor had perscribed worked brilliantly - Emilia stopped scratching and was able to get some sleep. Yay for us - it meant we did too.
- On a positive note, the Ferry we came back on didn’t sink with a full load of passengers (all evacuated) until the next day. Nice!
- By day 5 Penny was starting to feel better - well enough to walk around.
- On day 6 James (Fenella’s sister’s partner) had a massive diabetic attack and almost went into a coma. His blood sugar levels dropped suddenly for no apparent reasn - Sophie raced into the kitchen screaming for sugar. I grabbed it, ran downstairs and started shovelling sugar into him while we kept taking his blood sugar levels every 30 seconds. Anything under 4 means he can go into a coma. When I arrived his levels were at 3.5 and over the next 3-4 minutes dropped to 3.1, 2.8, 2.5, 2.1, 1.8 and 1.5 before they finally started going up. Meanwhile we’d broken out the emergency injection kit (only every to be used when someone goes unconcious). Fortunately we didn’t have to use it. But if things hadn’t improved for another 60 seconds it may have been a different story. James quickly improved back to normal and was fine afterwards.
- Next the big fight with the airline started. They didn’t want to fly us home with an infectious child. Fine we said, travel insurance will pay for us to stay for another couple of days until the Fiji doctor says she’s safe. Oh no, says the airline, that’s not good enough. You may have to stay up to another 5 days until every last scab falls off Emilia’s Chicken Pox…
- Fenella, Emilia and myself stayed an extra couple of days (thank goodness for travel insurance) while everyone else flew home.
- The disagreement with the airline turned into a 4 day battle with hundreds of dollars in phone calls and faxes which I eventually won. Air New Zealand finally agreed to let us fly based on what the Fiji doctor that diagnosed Emila said, rather than their own doctor in New Zealand who had not seen her personally.
- Those last two days with just the 3 of us were great - we finally started to relax a bit and chill out enjoying the sun and the pool and the all expenses paid travel insurance restaurant meals. Not bad at all.
- So the day of departure arrived and we prepared to fly out of the island to the mainland on a little plane. Fenella hates flying so took her off to the airport bar and loaded up with some dutch courage. It wasn’t enough. She walked up to the plane just fine but then the fear kicked in. She still managed to do the 10 minute flight but cried and kept her eyes shut almost all the way. After almost 10 days of only being Daddy’s little girl and refusing to be held by Mommy, Emilia finally did the right thing and sat on Fenella’s lap for the flight hugging her which helped Fenella immensely.
- Of course, I loved the flight as did Emilia who sat there saying "I on a plane!" over and over.
- We arrived at Nandi airport (Fenella immediately demanded cash for a large round of chocolate therapy to get over the flight) and checked in for our main flight back to New Zealand at 9:15pm.
- Which was delayed 3 hours. Sigh.
- On the plus side, because of the delay we were now leaving Fiji on the 19th (Emila’s birthday) instead of the 18th and so they had to give her an extra seat instead of making her sit on our lap.
- So eventually, after literally running around Nandi airport for 4 hours trying to wear Emilia out (during which time she poured an entire bottle of water over someone’s seat and tried to help herself to all the jewelry displays in a store) we climbed on board the 767 for home.
- Emilia loved the take off and first 15 minutes ("I on a plane!" "I on a plane!") and then realized how tired she was and started to cry which lead to 2.5 hours screaming on the 3 hour flight.
- On top of that there was the argument with one the cabin staff member about a meal for Emilia. He was was surprisingly nasty and was yelling at Fenella who was trying to explain that the airline had given Emilia the seat but he didn’t want to hear that. After a while he came back and apologized and was really nice from that point onwards. Still wouldn’t give Emilia a meal though.
- About 30 minutes before landing Emilia passed across two seats (hers and mine) out and I crawled into a spare seat at the back of the plane.
- We landed in freezing cold, raining Auckland and caught a shuttle to Fenella’s parent’s place where Emila woke up and started screaming again before finally falling back asleep at about 5:30am.
And thus, our "holiday" ended.
Not the most relaxing holiday by any stretch of the imagination but we did have some really nice times and I’ve got some great videos to upload very soon.
Definitely want to go back there though - the location was beautiful.

Hi everyone,
I haven’t posted on this blog in a long time.
There have been (and continue to be) many very difficult challenges to deal with over the last 18-24 months.
As a result, I let my own business (including this blog) get put aside while I worked on building other other people’s internet empires.
This time has been good in many ways - I’ve substantially increased my own skills and knowledge. I’ve made some incredible friends and contacts and earned some very good income.
But… I’ve also stayed predominately in a "dollars for hours" position meaning my income can be influenced significantly by others.
This was particularly true two months ago when a very large client who owed me a considerable amount of money let me know (after the payment was due) that I wasn’t going to receive payment for a two weeks.
Those two weeks became almost two months causing significant emotional and financial stress until it was paid in full.
Which in fact, was just what I needed - a really hard kick in the backside to remind me that I must work on my own business first and foremost as a priority.
What’s In It For You?
From this point I’m starting to work on my own business for the first 3-4 hours of every business day - no interruptions or other client work. You’ll see from my calendar that this time is already blocked out.
The good news for you is this means you’re finally going to receive the amazing knowledge, tools, software, strategies I’ve been wanting to share with you but never got around to because… well… I was too busy working for everyone else.
I have stacks and STACKS of amazing systems, tools, software, strategies, tips etc that I’ve developed over the last two years that I’ve never seen used or mentioned anywhere else.
For many of my clients I’ve become a "Systems Expert" - handling all the front and backend technical systems and processes for their websites, keeping their web servers working at the optimal level, automating backups etc.
I’ve also developed some really cool web software to solve problems, save time and money and make website owner’s lives much, much easier and more fun.
And now that I’m putting my business first… I can finally start sharing these with you.
My aim is to make your online businesses easier, more fun and significantly more profitable and hopefully build a really great relationship with you at the same time.
Stay tuned as I rebuild this website and start sending you information over the next week…

Refreshed and ready, you sit down at your computer to do a little more work on your websites.
You've worked hard on those websites for a year and you're very proud of them. They provide you a nice passive income of $10,000 each month allowing you to quit your job and sleep in until 11am on Monday mornings.
You go to your website login page. Something is wrong…
1) You can't log in to your control panel.
2) Your login page is all messed up.
3) Your main website is gone.
With a growing sense of horror you realize that someone has broken into your website and destroyed most of your work for the last year!
Sounds like a horrible situation, doesn't it? And yet this exact situation happens to hundreds (thousands?) of website owners every day. It could just as easily happen to you if…
You Are Using Weak And Insecure Passwords To Protect Your Livelihood.
Think about it.
Your website control panel password is the only thing stopping someone having control of your entire website.
Once they're in they can steal your work or destroy it at their whim.
So why don't we discover just how secure your passwords are?
Click Here to open a password strength checker in a new window.
Once it's open, try typing your passwords in and see what rating you get.
I guarantee that 98% of the readers on this blog will discover their passwords are rated "weak" or "medium".
IMPORTANT: If you have concerns about typing your passwords into a web page you are very wise! Please note that none of your passwords are stored in any way on this page - the javascript code on this page displays a result to you only. I encourage you to look at the source code to verify this.
So What Does This Mean For You?
If your passwords are reated as "weak" or "medium" strength then you are in danger of having your websites destroyed or stolen at some point. This is particularly true if your website becomes successful and well known.
Here's how it will happen…
One of the many thousands of "Bad Guys" on the internet will target your website with a "brute force password script".
This script is a small peice of software that will try to log into your control panel or other log in pages as much as 400 times a second. Each time the script tries to log in it will use a new password.
These brute force scripts tend to start by going through dictionary words and adding some numbers or letters on the end because that's what most people do to create a password - create something really easy to type and easy to remember.
Now at 400 "guesses" a second, that script can try over 34.5 million passwords each day.
How long do you think your password will last if that script is running against your site for a week?
Here's How To Beat The Bad Guys
So you've realized your passwords are insecure and you want to do something about it. Here are some tips:
- Ensure passwords are at least 8 characters long Use both UPPERCASE and lowercase letters in your password
- Use at least two groups of letters that have a mix of upper and lower case letters
- Do NOT use words from a dictionary, names, birth dates, or any other identifiable information.
- Add some numbers.
- To really beef up the security, add some punctuation.
- Do NOT use the same password for different websites.
Some examples might be:
g!IE7dp00UY
908jf4e3#UF3
h&yT$32Up
With passwords like these you are increasing your online security massively.
Yes, they are much harder to remember and this is a good thing.
If you have trouble remembering you can create some rules to help you.
For example, pick a song lyric and use the first letter of each word to help build the password by adding numbers or punctuation between each line of the lyric.
For example, let's pick a song randomly - "Desert Rose" by Sting.
If the lyrics are:
Each of her veils, a secret promise
This desert flower
No sweet perfume ever tortured me more than this"
Your password could be: "Tdr1Eohv,asp2"
If you know the lyrics you can remember this extremely secure password easily and yet nobody else will have a clue.
But Here's The Challenging Part…
You really need a different secure password for each key website you own.
You should also have a separate password for every critical website you have access to such as banks, paypal, your domain registrar etc. Again, you may have rules that help you.
For example, you might add an additional code to each of your websites that goes before the password.
So for PayPal it might be: PP6!Tdr1Eohv,asp2
For ClickBank it might be: CB9!Tdr1Eohv,asp2
Where PP6 is the first letter of each syllable in the domain name (PayPal = PP) and 6 is the number of letters.
ClickBank = CB + 9 letters = CB9
Now I know all of this is probably is probably giving you a migraine, but it really is quite simple to set up even though it seems complex.
With a few simple rules your websites can be super secure with passwords impossible for others to guess.
What you have to ask yourself is this…
What will it cost me to lose everything? To have my PayPal password stolen? To have my domain names stolen and transferred to a new owner?
The "cost" of spending a couple of hours creating and remembering some rules to create secure passwords is well worth the risk of losing all the hard work you've been doing online.
Think about it and leave me your thoughts in the comments.

I'm sure you've heard of Camtasia.
It's the industry standard software for creating audio-visual screen capture videos, or recording and editing camcorder or webcam footage and is used by most internet video creators.
A Brand New Copy Costs USD $300
But You Can Get Camtasia For FREE!
I can hear you thinking from here:
"Yeah right Phill… nothing is ever really free, so what's the catch?"
The only catch is this: it's an older version of Camtasia - Version 3 - which is at least 85% as good as the latest version (which why I suggested it is worth $250 in the headline
)
It still allows you to do full screen capture videos and video editing. This is the full 3.0 version - not a trial version.
Many people still use version 3 because they haven't felt the need to upgrade. And if you ever do decide to upgrade to the latest version you'll get it at a discounted upgrade price as well (US$150 instead of the full US$300).
So go grab it NOW because this offer could end any time.

Now Learn How To Use Camtasia In Just 30 Minutes…
Having the software is one thing - knowing how to use it is another.
I was going to spend a day putting together videos and tutorials showing you how to use the free version of Camtasia. But… I stumbled across a report while doing research that shows you how to do everything I was going to teach you and much, much more.
This 61 page report is packed with step-by-step screenshots showing you exactly what to do and covers:
- How to plan your videos
- Where to get images for your videos and how to insert them
- Where to get music for your videos and how to add it
- How to record sound professionally
- How to create a timeline
- How to make nice, smooth, professional transitions between video clips

As promised, here is a 20 minute video showing you an amazing planning and time management system that will double or even triple your productivity within as little as a week.
This time management tool is the best I have ever used.
To say that it has transformed my ability to achieve goals and get things done is a massive understatement.
The best part?
It won't cost you a dime.

I owe you a huge apology.
Four months ago I disappeared off the face of the planet without an explanation.
Not the least bit professional on my part, or good business sense.
I trust you'll understand why and accept my apology when I explain.
Five months ago my father started having problems with co-ordination, speech and memory. After visiting our family doctor several times we managed to get him referred to the hospital for some heart and neurology scans.
After a few weeks on the waiting list he was put through the CAT scan and MRI machines.
We were told that he had a brain tumor, possibly malignant.
Within two weeks he was on an operating table getting advanced brain surgery. A golf ball sized portion of his brain was removed from his left temporal lobe. Fortunately the temporal lobe can withstand a large portion like this being removed with relatively minor side affects on speech, memory and emotion.
Within a few days my father was up and walking around and communicating very well, quite possibly better than before the operation.
Unfortunately… a week later, the analysis of the tumor came back and we were told that it was a highly malignant, grade 4 astrocytoma.
Incurable.
It is also very aggressive and will grow back very quickly.
This week he has started radiotherapy and chemotherapy which will add approximately 3 months to his life. Exactly how long he has before the symptoms start to kick in again and his condition degrades we don't know - it might be 6 weeks, or 6 months.
When all of this happened many of my projects including the Website Systems Expert website and the new version of Motivated Marketing System were immediately put on hold so I could put time and energy into looking after my father and helping him through this process.
However, we've gotten through the initial diagnosis, his brain surgery and recovery and I've realized I'm now ready to take action on these projects again.
So I first wanted to apologize to you for the significant delay - I'm sure you can understand.
I also want to tell you that I will be making up for lost time.
Over the next few weeks I have some incredible tools, strategies and systems to share with you that you can immediately apply to your online and offline businesses.
Some of the ideas and information I've come up with, applied and tested over the last few months is going to blow your mind and I haven't seen anyone else cover it.
This starts tomorrow when I'm going to show you an amazing system that takes 15 minutes a day that will double or triple your productivity within as little as 7 days.
You're about to find yourself targeting your goals like a heat seeking missile - achieving them in 1/2 to 1/4 of the time you are now. You'll find yourself getting 2 or 3 times the amount of tasks done in half the time.
When I first heard the claims about this process my first thought was "what a load of…"
I could not have been more wrong. My productivity has doubled and continues to increase steadily.
I'm simply amazed.
And guess how much this system is going to sting you?
Nothing.
Just 10-15 minutes a day for 1-2 weeks, and a little patience and self discipline while you learn new skills.
Stay tuned for that email within the next 24 hours.
Have fun!
Phill
